Our Team is led by Captain Gene Weeks. Captain Gene is a 40 year veteran of the Marine industry. Growing up on Candlewood Lake in Danbury Connecticut, Gene was what many people would consider a “Water Baby”. Joining the U S Navy at age 18 he began his professional life on the water. After Six Years active duty Gene then became an Engineer on a Tug Boat operating from Norfolk VA. He then felt his entrepreneurial spirit rising and entered the recreational boating market. Owning several successful dealerships he was now deep in the spirit of the industry.
With a passion for boats and speed, Captain Gene began his Offshore Racing career in 1986. Competing in many classes of boats over the years, he began to develop an interest in hydrodynamics and construction. Beginning at Fountain Powerboats working side by side with the World Class Racer Reggie Fountain, Gene continued learning everything he could about going fast and building boats that would survive the rigors of Offshore Racing. He became a renowned throttleman and continued his career holding executive level positions at eight different manufacturers including, Baja, Lazzara Yachts, Donzi, Statement, and Cheoy Lee Shipyards. After spending two years in China developing the World Class Cheoy Lee Alpha Series Yachts and three years in Ft Lauderdale helping to bring the Alpha Series to market, Gene then relocated back to the West Coast Of Florida.
Now Gene Enjoys his position of Captain on the 70’ Viking Princess, “ Three, One, & One.”
